Questions, Questions & More Questions

We all want afforable healthcare for everyone.  How we get there is being enormously debated at all levels of society and politics. The bottom line is, how do we pay for it?  If the answer to the question was easy, we would all have access to affordable or nearly free healthcare now.

What we do know is that we must reduce cost.  Cost reduction must be at all levels of the healthcare delivery system. Healthcare administrative cost needs to reduced.

Cost of medical supplies pharmaceuticals add to the price tag. Do we jeopardize research and development for supplies and medicine?  Do we halt advancement in medicine?  After all,  the longer we live the higher costs climb.

Do we limit the profit physicians, hospitals, insurance companies and all players in the system make?  If we do, how would it affect our health and longevity?  The questions are endless and the answers are mind boggling.

Should we look at who provides our healthcare. Why do we have to pay $150 or more to be prescribed an antibiotic for strep throat?  Why do we need to pay an office visit to have a routine blood test?

These questions are just a few questions of the thousands that need to be answered.  They can't be all answered at once, but we do need to ask them, debate them and take action.
